Volleyball Week 1 Recap

Week 1: Chattanooga State Battles in Season Opener Against Snead State
Chattanooga State Volleyball opened the 2025 season at home with a hard-fought five-
set match against Snead State, ultimately falling 3–2 (20–25, 26–24, 25–23, 21–25,
8–15).
The Tigers saw several players record career-best performances in the season opener.
Sophomore Ava Higgins powered the offense with a career-high 23 kills, hitting .309 on
55 swings while also adding 8 digs and 2 aces. At the net, freshman Brooklyn Kasuba
posted a career-high 11 kills on an outstanding .471 hitting percentage and added 2
blocks.
Running the offense, sophomore setter Baileigh Seale dished out a career-high 51
assists while contributing 8 digs and 4 service aces. On the defensive end, libero
Katelyn Anderson anchored the back row with a career-high 27 digs, while Shiloh
Sheeks (13 digs) and Sydney Smith (11 digs, 6 kills, 2 blocks) added steady support.
The Tigers also got contributions from Quincie Hrinik (7 kills, 2 blocks) and MaLeah
Smith (7 digs, 2 blocks) to round out a balanced effort.

Despite the setback, Chattanooga State showed grit and resilience in their opening
match, pushing the contest to five sets and setting a strong tone for the season ahead.
