Two Tiger Basketball Players Named All-American
2 Chattanooga State Tigers earned All-American honors this week.
Women's
Silkiari Vazquez-Troche was named to the third team all-american, and TCCAA First Team selection this year, averaged 12.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 7.8 assists, and 2.1 steals a game for the tigers this past season. She helped Chatt to a 31-2 overall record and a trip to the NJCAA Women's Division I National Tournament after securing TCCAA Tournament title.
Men's
James Williams, who was named the TCCAA Player of the Year as well as Offensive Player of the Year, was named to the NJCAA All-American 2nd team. His effors lead the Tigers to a 22-8 overall record and a TCCAA Tournament Runner-up this past seasonn. As the Tigers' leading scorer at 21.4 points a game, he shot almost 56% from the floor while averaging 7 rebounds, 6.6 assists, and 1.8 steals a contest for the season.
